Vibrating pokers

Lievers poker vibrators compact concrete fast, evenly and reliably — straight from the manufacturer, in stock at the factory. From cordless battery pokers to 42 V high-frequency systems for large pours.

Concrete vibrators straight from the manufacturer

A poker vibrator — also called a concrete vibrator, immersion vibrator or vibrating poker — drives trapped air out of fresh concrete and leaves a dense, load-bearing structure without honeycombing. Lievers has built these machines in its own factory in Mijdrecht, Holland since 1954. Buying factory-direct means no middlemen: shipped from stock, with a 24-month manufacturer's warranty and advice from the people who actually build the machines.

Which concrete vibrator fits your site?

Battery poker vibrators like the P18Li complete set work anywhere, no mains needed — ideal for foundations, repairs and sites without power. One battery lasts a full working day.

High-frequency poker vibrators (42 V) are the first choice for large concrete volumes: high compaction output and a low-maintenance direct drive, powered by a high-frequency converter.

Electric poker vibrators (230 V) like the P14E are the all-rounder for medium pours with site power.

Petrol poker vibrators run fully independent — for outdoor and remote sites.

Choose the poker head diameter to match the element: Ø 28–40 mm for narrow formwork and reinforced sections, Ø 45–65 mm for foundations, slabs and mass concrete.

What does a poker vibrator actually do?

The rotating eccentric inside the poker head sets the fresh concrete vibrating. Trapped air escapes, the aggregate packs tightly and the rebar is fully enclosed — the conditions for design strength and a durable, fair-faced finish.

How long should you vibrate concrete?

Rule of thumb: keep the poker in each spot until no more large air bubbles rise and a thin film of cement paste forms on the surface — roughly 5 to 15 seconds depending on consistency. Space insertions at 8–10 times the head diameter to avoid uncompacted zones.

Can you compact concrete without a vibrator?

For small unreinforced pours, rodding and tapping can do — but for structural elements, mechanical compaction is the accepted standard. Uncompacted concrete loses significant strength and durability; honeycombing and voids are almost guaranteed.

Spare parts and service?

Poker heads, hoses and drive units ship as genuine parts from the factory — including for older Lievers machines. Questions? Call +31 (0)297-231900 and you speak directly with the manufacturer.
